What is a righteous path? Adopting
a practical, dignified and righteous behaviour (मर्यादित व्यवहार विशेष)
in your life and with a complete abandonment of all worldly desires and passions.
Along with a complete cease and desist of all wrong behaviour/sinful
acts/immoral and transgressing acts/indecorous behaviour
etc. etc. in the future and be willing and inclined towards the settlement of
your past misdeeds/transgressions/sins with an eager and enthusiastic approach
(मन के साथ).
A complete prohibitive approach should be adopted towards
negative and sinful behaviour in your future
pursuits. Only those souls are extricated from this fateful cycle of life and
death, who show willingness and eagerness to save
themselves (मन के साथ).
A soul who adopts a bogus and phony approach only fools herself
and dooms her own fate in an unending downward spiral. For example sage valmiki was a cut throat bandit who murdered travellers and then robbed their belongings along the known
travelling routes of that time. When confronted by another sage vishwamitra, he simply explained that all of his misdeeds
have earned him a long and perilous incarceration in hell and with his earned
power he showed him his fate so that he can experience first-hand what was to
become of him, and asked him that will he serve it alone or with the family for
whom he committed these heinous acts. When he asked his family they simply
refused and said that it was his responsibility to feed and nurture and they
did not care how. The consequences of these acts are his and his alone, not
theirs. Upon returning to the place where he met sage vishwamitra,
he sat down in perpetual meditation and along the passage of time termites
build their nest upon his body (hence his name). Now he showed willingness to
be saved and proved this at every step. Not only he paid the consequences (the
termites continuously eating away at his body) but also was eager to be free.
Similarly thug Sajjan was one of the utmost devotee of Guru Nanak (first guru of Sikhs). He had built a
mosque and temple around an old and deep well and posed as temple priest for
Hindu travellers and as mosque cleric to Muslim travellers and would offer them asylum for the night. He
would pick out wealthy travellers and then drug them
at night, eventually killing them and robbing their belongings. He would then
proceed to dispose the body in the well. When confronted by Guru Nanak
regarding his heinous actions and that he is simply fooling himself, he vowed
to discontinue his actions and to adopt Guru Nanak’s teachings so that he may
yet redeem his precious and rare human life. Now these devotees showed
willingness to save themselves and eagerly accepted the consequences of their horrifying
and vicious acts, which is the sole reason they were saved. Now consider
another soul who put herself to the righteous path and through continuous
dedication and hard work earned herself the title of “Indra”.
Now she stops her efforts to continuously earn but is constantly plagued by the
fear that someday her time as “Indra” will end and
she will fall down from her position. Also she becomes greedy to taste and
enjoy all the pleasures and desires within her limited timeframe. And
eventually when time comes she is abdicated from her post. So those who keep up
their hard work and do not stop their efforts for any reason whatsoever, have a
better chance of getting free. And those who stop their efforts to continuously
free themselves have a higher chance of becoming corrupt and depraved. For
example a running water such as a flowing river and
streams are pure but a body of water which becomes stagnant, it very easily
gets infected. Rolling stone gathers no moss. You have to continuously roll
towards your target (to free yourself from the vicious cycle of life and
death). Your efforts must be continuously aimed toward the attainment of your
objective in an unceasing manner so that one day you will be free. You have to
be eager and enthusiastic in your approach and accept the consequences of your
actions with an open heart. You should also aim to free yourself from the
infinite vices and desires and temptations. And only you can do this, take for
example a monkey who has been trapped. How is he trapped – a pot with narrow
mouth full of groundnuts is buried in the ground in a manner that its mouth
remains accessible. Now the monkey inspects the contraption and finds nuts in
it. In order to grab as many nuts in it he clenches his fist and tries to take
it out. But since the mouth is narrow his fist gets blocked and he gets
trapped. And soon the poacher (death) comes and takes the monkey (soul in human
incarnation) away. And for the rest of his life monkey dances
to the tune of his master. Now the monkey (soul in human incarnation) is
the victim of his own greed. He can free himself anytime he want
but for that to happen he has to overcome the greed of his nuts and let go of
his fist. But why does he get caught? Because of his greed.
Similarly we can be free anytime we want, but we will have to let go of our
greed/desires/temptations/vices etc. It is as simple as that. It is not the
greed that is holding us but we are the ones holding our greed, clenching it
tight and not letting go. And soon death approaches our door and what becomes
our fate? Endless perilous years of incarceration in hell.
Why did we earn it – because we chose it to be so! We could have let go at any
moment but instead we chose to waste this rare and precious human incarnation
“granted after your successful completion of countless religious asceticism”
only …! Nobody can free the soul, it is the soul only
that has sole power and responsibility of freeing herself. And god only helps
and assists those who try with their full might (countless and in numerous
prayers in this regard will not help until you take the right path and commit
the right act). Only that person gets freed who wants be freed and the most
important fact is that you do not repeat your mistakes ever. Repeating mistakes
is the mind’s (मन)
way of tricking you and the only sure result of this action is your soul’s
downfall. If you are truly committed to the cause of freeing yourself and your
desire of freedom is true (without deceptive, cheating and tricking thoughts),
only then you shall surely follow the righteous path and eventually leading to
your freedom. Greed is the basis of achievement in this world but is also
crucial in a soul’s downfall. It only helps within a certain boundary and
restriction and it should be only allowed until it lets you fulfil
your responsibilities and lets you keep your main objective in mind –
realization of your base and your assimilation with it. Without restraint,
governance and limits, greed will just form the basis of crime and the
deterioration and atrophy of soul. Just like there is no limit to the ascent of
soul, there is no limit to how far down a soul will fall due to greed. The main
motivator for greed is mind (मन)
i.e. मन का सूतक लोभ है.
This is the same mind (मन)
which drowns the soul for countless years in the hell and if this same mind (मन)
which if pursues the righteous path can very effectively help the soul in
ascending to various higher angelic and divine worlds – to whom heaven and
other similar worlds (स्वर्ग और वैकुण्ठ)
pale in comparison – that special adorable, essential and unique mind (मन)…!
The human incarnation is yours only- but what’s more important is the fact that
you realize the importance of your incarnation, so that you can select the
righteous path for the sake of your own welfare, good being and happiness only.
But once your heart stops beating, you cannot be saved from personally
experiencing the countless agonies and grief that you have accumulated even if
they (gurus, satgurus, gods etc. etc.) try with all
their might and power and at any given time and they will always prove to be
incapable and inept, so thinking about escaping form
the consequences is nothing more than a delusion of grandeur. Surely
your personal, unique and important investment (special and unique human
incarnation/form) is about to run out soon at any moment and there is no
assurance that this special and unique human incarnation/form will ever be
granted to you ever again or not -! Even
if there is a little bit of desire, greed, endearment/attachment, lust and
selfishness then you will have to be born again and die again and again in an
endless cycle until that little bit is removed – and moreover the number of
pleasures and grief in a single life-death cannot be counted or fathomed so how
could one possibly comprehend them in their infinite reincarnations? “पुत्र-कलत्र मोह सब बिख है
- अन्त को बेली नाही” It
is the providence’s (विधि)
law that even with earth’s all power combined with the power of all gurus,
monks (महंत),
religious teachers, gods etc. etc. with all of their infinite diligent and
eager tries will always prove incapable of moving the soul even one millimetre at any given time, if there is even a little bit
of desire, greed, endearment/attachment, lust and selfishness in it – then the
claims of taking her to heaven, sachkhand and other
divine and angelic worlds is nothing more than a fantasy belief. The soul which
is a part of god (रागमई प्रकाशित आवाज़)/naam (नाम की ताकत),
even if he tries it with his own might and all his strength, he even himself
cannot budge the soul from her position (if there is even one sliver of desire,
greed, endearment/attachment, lust and selfishness) even though all he cares
for is the good well and the well-being of the soul. This is our own personal
experience. She will have to be born again and not certainly in human form
because mahakaal (महाकाल)
(an important governing and controlling part of providence (विधि))
is most certainly, ideologically not a pointless and meaningless waster of
important and unique resources (human form).
Then he will reincarnate you in immeasurable forms of various
species(present or new) in the most practical manner, so that you can
experience your various tastes and desires again and again in a most certain
manner. Wastage and misuse of any substance, organ/component and resource (पदार्थ,
अंग अथवा साधन)
in human reincarnation/form = Experiencing dreadful and ghastly suffering and
starvation/famine/depravation like various excruciations in a most direct and practical
manner for infinite time…! Therefore
always be most mindful and vigilant towards your expenditure and usage of every
basic discernible particle of this universe in a most sensitive and practical
manner…! ![]() |
